RUSTBLOCK®: Taking care of your vehicle
CAR CARE TIPS: INTERIOR
CAR CARE TIPS: CLEANING YOUR CAR'S INTERIORRemove all loose items from the visor, console, side pockets and trunk area. Make sure to check under your seats, you may be surprised at what you can find. If you have access to a compressor, blow out dust from hard to reach areas, such as air vents, door trims, between seats, etc. If you don't have one you can try using a 2" paint brush. Remove the floor mats and ash trays. Using a wet-dry vacuum cleaner (if you don't have one go to a local service station) vacuum your interior. You can start from the rear seats and floorboard area. Then, bring your front seats all the way back and vacuum the front area. Clean all plastic and vinyl surfaces inside your car. If you have a leather interior, use only leather cleaners to clean the surface. Once all the vinyl and leather is cleaned, apply a vinyl or leather protectant. DO NOT use a vinyl conditioner on a leather surface. Leather conditioners contain oils to rejuvenate your leather. Avoid products that contain silicone. If your vehicle requires a thorough upholstery cleaning it would be preferable to take it to a professional detail center.. CAR CARE TIPS: TIPS TO REMEMBERNever apply dressing to the steering wheel, brake, clutch or accelerator pedals. They can become slippery. When cleaning windows on the interior, wipe in an up and down motion. On the exterior, wipe side to side. This will allow you to locate missed streaks, spots and marks by the direction of the smear. Never use vinyl or rubber dressings of any kind on leather. It will cause drying and make the seats slippery. |
